ONTDEK KEK!
It’s already in the name! KEK! Extra hop is an extra hopped craft beer. Quite bitter, but still easy to drink. The used Magnum hops are giving the beer an intense bitterness. Though, experts will probably recognize the clearly present Cascade hops. At three different stages in the brewing process the Cascade hops are added, which gives KEK! Extra hop his unique taste and smell. Cascade adds a citrus aroma and a fresh bitter taste. This makes it, despite the bitterness, still easy to drink!
Cascade is named to the hops region of origin. The Cascade Range is a gigantic mountain chain on the west coast of the United States. The chain lies in the same direction of the coast and appeared on the crack between different earth plates. As a consequence the (partly still active) volcanic mountain chain appeared.
The Columbia river was for ages the only practical route through the area. Though also on this river journey there were obstacles. A part of the river existed of heavy rapids and waterfalls. Colonists and tradesmen started to call the part of the river ‘Cascade Rapids’. The area around it got the name ‘Mountains by the Cascades’, later on simply called ‘Cascades’. Cascades hops are growing mainly in the state of Oregon and are used often in American style beers.
